Connecting cards

Lines tell Link Studio how people move from one card to the next. Blocks and the moving squares on the Board follow them.

Three ways to draw a line

With the Connect tool

  1. Pick Connect in the toolbar, or press L.
  2. Press on the first card and drag to the second.
  3. Let go. The line snaps to the nearest sides of both cards.

You can also click the first card and then the second.

From the edge of a card

What a line means

A line from a link to a page says people who clicked that link go on to that page. A line from a page to Purchase says people go from that page to buying.

  • A line counts the people seen at both cards, in order, within 30 minutes.
  • Blocks read the cards connected into them, so a Total block adds up whatever links lead into it.

Moving or removing a line

To change a line:

  1. With the Select tool, click the line. It turns orange.
  2. To move it, drag the square at either end onto another card.
  3. To remove it, click the bin at the top of the Board, or press Delete.

You can also draw a selection box across several lines and press Delete to remove them all at once.

Which way should a line point on a Link Studio Board?

Can one card on a Link Studio Board have several lines?

Yes. In Link Studio a page can have lines in from many links and lines out to several next steps.
