## Before you begin

> **Tip:** You need your store domain and an installed app with **read_orders** and **read_customers** access. Add **read_all_orders** too to bring in orders older than 60 days. Use its Admin access token, or its client ID and secret.

## Connecting Shopify

To connect Shopify:

1. Click **Add-ons** in the sidebar.
2. Find **Shopify** under **Connections** and click **Connect**.
3. Fill in the fields below.
4. Click **Connect**.

| Field | What to enter |
| --- | --- |
| Name | A name you will recognize, like Shopify. |
| Identity namespace | Your website or app, like yourshop.com. Use the same one for every tool that belongs to the same site or app. |
| Store domain | Your store’s address, like your-store.myshopify.com. |
| Authentication | **Admin access token**, or **App client credentials** for stores in your own organization. |
| Admin access token | The token from your Shopify app. With client credentials, enter the **Client ID** and **Client secret** instead. |

Once connected, the last 60 days of orders come in, or your whole history if the app has **read_all_orders**. After that, Link Studio checks for new orders every few seconds.

## Crediting sales to your links

Shopify records the page each buyer landed on. When your short link goes to your store, Link Studio uses that to credit the order to your link.

## Disconnecting Shopify

On the **Add-ons** page, click **Disconnect** on the Shopify card and confirm. Shopify stops syncing until you connect it again.

### Does Link Studio count Shopify test payments?

No. Link Studio keeps Shopify test and sandbox data out of your live reports.

### Does Link Studio take Shopify refunds off revenue?

Yes. Link Studio counts what was paid for each Shopify order, with refunds taken off.
