# Use Link Studio from Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini

> Connect your AI assistant once, then ask it to make, organise and lay out your links.

Connect Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini to Link Studio in about a minute. Then ask in plain words: it makes your links, files them into folders, lays them out on your Board and tells you how they are doing.

## Before you start

- **Link Studio is open** on your computer. Your assistant works through it, so keep it open while you use your assistant.
- **One connection covers all your workspaces.** Your assistant works in the workspace you have open in Link Studio, or in any workspace you name.
- **Using Claude Code, Codex or Gemini CLI?** You don't need a link. It's one command: see [Claude Code, Codex and Gemini CLI](https://linkstudio.link/docs/mcp-for-agents/#terminal).

## Copy your Link Studio link

1. In Link Studio, click **Add-ons** in the sidebar.
2. Under **Assistants**, click **Connect** on Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini.

3. Click **Copy** to copy your Link Studio link. Keep the dialog open: it shows the steps for that assistant.

> **Tip:** Setting up a new workspace? The **Connect your AI agent** step shows the same link and steps, so you can connect there. See [Creating your workspace](https://linkstudio.link/docs/creating-your-workspace/#connect-ai).

## Connect Claude

4. Click **Connect**. A Link Studio page opens: click **Open Link Studio to approve**.
5. Click **Allow**. You're sent back to Claude, and Link Studio shows up under your connectors.

> **Tip:** Claude asks before it uses each tool. We recommend letting it read and change your links without asking: open Link Studio under your connectors and set every group of tools, not just **Read-only tools**, to **Always allow**.

## Things to ask

Your assistant already knows how Link Studio works, so ask the way you'd ask a teammate.

```
Organise my links into folders
and give them clearer names.
Make links for my autumn sale on TikTok,
Instagram and my newsletter. They all go
to juniper.com/shop/autumn.
Make a link for each of these creators:
Mia, Sam and Priya.
Put my TikTok and newsletter links
on the Board.
Which link brought the most visitors
this month?
In Juniper, how much revenue did
my links bring last week?
```

## What your assistant can do

| Area | What it can do |
| --- | --- |
| Workspaces | See all your workspaces and work in any of them. |
| Links | Make one link or many at once, rename them, change where they go and archive them. |
| Folders | Create folders and file your links into them, with a fitting icon and colour. |
| Board | Lay links out in tidy boxes with arrows to the pages they open, and add notes and blocks. |
| Results | Read clicks, visitors, sign ups and sales for each link. Revenue is shown in US dollars. |
| Conversions and funnels | List, save and remove them. |
| Tracking | Add tracking to your site, then check live which pages, moments and countries are coming in. |
| Journeys | Put a path of pages and moments on your Board and measure it as a funnel. |

> **Note:** Your assistant never sees your keys. It can connect and verify your domain and help you connect your sign-up tool, but you connect your store and payment tools yourself in **Add-ons**.

## Workspaces and disconnecting

- Your assistant works in the workspace you have open in Link Studio. To use another one, name it in your message, like "In Juniper, list my links".
- **Add-ons** shows **Connected** on your assistant once it's set up. You only connect it once, and it works in all your workspaces, including ones you add later.
- To stop it straight away, open **Add-ons**, click your assistant, click **Disconnect** at the bottom and confirm.

## Claude Code, Codex and Gemini CLI

Terminal tools connect with one command and need no link. They run Link Studio on your computer. Each Connect dialog has a second tab for them.

1. In **Add-ons**, click **Connect** on Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini.
2. Open the second tab: **Claude Code**, **Codex** or **Gemini CLI**.
3. Copy the command and run it once in your terminal. It adds Link Studio for every folder you work in.
4. Start a new session in the tool, or restart it if it's already open.
5. Type **/mcp** in the tool to check Link Studio is connected.

> **Figure:** The Claude Code tab
>
> The Connect Claude dialog on the Claude Code tab with the command to copy

> **Tip:** Rather not run a command? Copy the setup under **Or add it by hand** into the file the dialog names: `.mcp.json` in your project for Claude Code, `~/.codex/config.toml` for Codex or `~/.gemini/settings.json` for Gemini CLI.

> **Note:** Connecting while you set up a new workspace? The **Connect your AI agent** step shows **Claude Code is connected** (or **Codex** or **Gemini CLI**) as soon as the tool starts Link Studio.

> **Note:** No Gemini CLI yet? The Gemini CLI tab links to Google's install guide.

## FAQs

### Why does my AI assistant say Link Studio isn't open?

Your assistant talks to the Link Studio app on the computer you connected. Open Link Studio on that computer, then ask again.

### Why does nothing happen when I click Open Link Studio to approve my assistant?

Link Studio needs to be running on the same computer as your browser. Open it, then click the button again.

### Why did my AI assistant change the wrong Link Studio workspace?

Your assistant uses the workspace open in Link Studio. Switch to the right one, or name the workspace in your message.

### Why doesn't Gemini show Custom apps for Link Studio?

Google only offers custom apps to personal Google accounts in the US for now, with Keep Activity turned on, so Link Studio can only be added to Gemini from an account like that.

### Where does my Link Studio data go when I use an AI assistant?

Your assistant's requests pass through Link Studio's connector to the app on your computer. The connector keeps only what it needs to sign your assistant in, where each short link goes so your links work while the app is closed, and new clicks and visits until the app collects them.
