# Link analytics

> See clicks over time, your best link, sources, places, devices and peak hours.

Link analytics shows how your short links perform: how many clicks they get, which link wins, where people are and when they tap.

## What you see

Click **Link analytics** in the sidebar. The board starts with the panels most people need, and you can change them any time.

>
> Link analytics with the date range, clicks, best link and organic visitors at the top, a clicks chart, top links and sources

| Panel | What it shows |
| --- | --- |
| Headline numbers | Your total **Clicks** with the change from the period before, your **Best link** and, once you verify a domain or add an app, **Organic visitors**: people who came without one of your links. |
| Clicks | Clicks day by day. Turn on **Compare** to see the period before as a dashed line. |
| Top links | Your links ranked by clicks, with their sales and revenue once you track them. |
| Sources | Your clicks by folder. Each folder counts as one source. |
| Locations | Where people clicked from. |
| Devices | Which devices and systems people used. |
| Peak hours | The hours of the day people click the most. |

## Choosing a date range

Pick a date range at the top: **Today**, **Yesterday**, **7D**, **30D**, **3M** or **6M**. Click **Custom** to choose your own start and end dates. Every panel on the board follows the range you pick.

Numbers in the headline compare against the period just before, so 7D compares this week with the week before.

Next to each headline number, the arrow shows the change from the period before: green when it went up and red when it went down. The small line beside it turns the same colour, or grey when nothing changed.

## Sources

Sources adds up your clicks by folder. Every link in a folder counts towards that folder, so you choose what each source is by where you file your links. Move a link to another folder and its clicks move with it. Links that aren't in a folder show as **No folder**.

## Locations

Locations ranks the countries your clicks came from. Every click has a country, even when its region or city isn’t known, including clicks you make yourself. Switch to **Regions** to see states and regions instead, and click **Show all** to see the full list.

> Clicks by country with the United States, United Kingdom and Canada at the top

## Devices

Devices splits your clicks into mobile, desktop and tablet. Switch to **OS** to see systems like iOS and Android.

## Peak hours

Peak hours shows clicks for each hour of the day, in your own time zone. The busiest hour is solid orange and named at the top right.

> **Tip:** Post when your people are already tapping. The peak hour is a good time to publish a new ad or story.

## FAQs

### Why is today lower than other days in Link Studio link analytics?

Because today isn’t over yet. Link Studio draws the current day as a dashed line on the chart until it ends.

### Does a QR code scan count as a click in Link Studio?

Yes. A scan opens the Link Studio short link, so it counts as a click the same way a tap does.

### How fast do link clicks show up in Link Studio?

Within a second or two, and Link Studio updates the board on its own. Clicks made while Link Studio is closed show up as soon as you open it again.

### What are organic visitors in Link Studio link analytics?

Organic visitors are people who reached your site or app without clicking one of your Link Studio links, like from a search or a post without your link. The number shows once you verify a domain or add an app, and it never adds to any link’s clicks. See where they came from under **Organic links** on the Links page.

### Can I choose which panels Link Studio analytics shows?

Yes. Link Studio lets you add, remove, resize and reorder the panels on both analytics boards. See [Customizing your analytics](https://linkstudio.link/docs/customizing-analytics/).
