# Links, QR codes and your domain

> Create a short link with a QR code for any ad, post or creator.

A short link counts every click, so you know exactly which ad, post or creator sent each visitor. Every link comes with its own QR code.

## Creating a link

Make one link for each place you share it. One for your Instagram bio, one for each ad, one for each creator.

To create a link:

1. Click **Links** in the sidebar.
2. Click **Create link**, or press **C**.
3. Enter a **Link name**. Only you and your team see it.
4. Under **Goes to**, pick where people should land.
5. Click **Create link**, or press **⌘ Enter**.

Your short link is copied as soon as it is made, and the link appears on your Board as a card.

## Choosing where it goes

Open the **Goes to** menu to pick a destination. Then type the page, or leave it empty to send people to the homepage.

- **Your domains** lists the domains you have verified.
- **Your apps** sends people to your app in the App Store or Google Play.
- **Another website** sends people to any web address. Paste the full address into the box.

## FAQs

### Can I edit the address of a Link Studio short link after I share it?

No. Once a Link Studio link is created, its short address stays the same, so nothing you already shared breaks. You can still change its name, where it goes, its comment and its folder.

### Do Link Studio links keep working when the app is closed?

Yes. Link Studio short links open for anyone, anywhere, even while Link Studio is closed. Clicks made in the meantime are kept for up to 30 days and show up when you open it again.

### What happens when someone taps my Link Studio link inside Instagram or TikTok?

Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and similar apps open links in their own browser, which keeps its own cookies, so someone who comes back later in Safari or Chrome would look like a new visitor. When a Link Studio link is opened inside one of these apps, a short page asks the visitor to open it in their own browser. On Android, **Open in browser** hands your page to their browser. On iPhone, these apps don’t let a link leave on its own, so the page shows **Open in Safari** and the two taps to get there. The click is counted once either way, the visit in their own browser is credited to your link, and **Continue here** opens your page inside the app as before.

### Can I change where a Link Studio link sends people later?

Yes. Open the link in Link Studio, pick a new destination under **Goes to** and click **Save changes**. Everyone who opens the short link goes to the new page within about a minute. If the new page is on a domain you haven’t verified yet, Link Studio asks you to verify it in **Domains** first.

### Can I give a Link Studio link its own icon?

Yes. In Link Studio, click the icon next to **Link name** to pick another one, or click **New icon** to upload a face or logo.
